Virtual TCP/IP COM ports using Serial-IP

It is possible to communicate with instruments of almost any protocol using a TCP/IP to Serial Convertor (e.g. Mod-Mux TCPCONV) and a Virtual-COM-port software solution like Serial-IP

Overview of the steps required:

  • Setup the TCP Convertor near to the instruments
  • Install Serial-IP and define a virtual COM port, e.g. COM7:
  • Setup SpecView to talk through the virtual port as if it was a real one.
