SpecView System Requirements
SpecView runs on the following operating systems:
- Windows 7 (32 bit. 64bit Windows 7 is being tested for compatibility now)
- Windows Vista (32 bit. 64bit seems to have some instabilities at present)
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows XP (Home and Professional, 32 bit and 64 bit versions)
- Windows 2000 (Workstation and Professional)
- Windows NT (4)
- Windows Me
- Windows 98
- Windows 95 (although the help will not work on Win 95)
SpecView requires a minimum of:
- Pentium processor or equivalent Celeron or AMD
- 128Mb RAM (256Mb or more recommended)
- 50Mb hard disk space to install SpecView
- additional disk space for data logging (varies depending on how much and how often you log data)
- Instrument connection: RS232 / RS485 / RS422 / Ethernet / OPC
- USB or Parallel port for the dongle. Soft Dongles also available on request.
Ideal System:
- Pentium 4 (or Celeron or AMD equivalent) 2.0Ghz
- 256Mb RAM
- 80GB hard disk
Essentially, anything that runs MS Word and MS Excel quickly will be OK for SpecView. For heavily loaded systems with lots of comms, lots of screens and lots of Strategy, it is recommended to get the fastest PC possible.
We have no plans for Macintosh, Linux, Palm-OS or Windows CE at present.
SpecView will not run on a Virtual PC (such as VM-Ware).
