If a box - such as the Variables List box doesn't appear when the button for it is clicked then it may be positioned off screen, in which case use Preferences - Settings to reset the position of the box.
However, if the box is not included in Preferences - Settings then use Windows to reposition the box.
To do this, first ensure the box has focus by doing whatever is normally done to open the box, such as clicking the menu command for it, then follow these steps:
Hold the ALT key and press the spacebar - this will appear to do nothing, but it will have opened the Windows menu on the box.
Press the 'm' key on the keyboard - again this will appear to do nothing, but it will have selected 'Move' from the box's Window menu.
Press any cursor key on the keyboard - just click it once, similarly this will appear to do nothing, but it will have enabled the mouse to move the box.
Now move the mouse - and the box will move with the mouse and can be dragged back into view.
The steps above will work for any Windows box, this is not just a SpecView feature.
