SpecView can interface to other software in 4 ways:
1.CSV (Output from SpecView only):
SpecView can write a CSV file – either by a logfile report or using SpecView’s LineWriter.
Other software could read this. But unfortunately SpecView cannot read a CSV file that has been written by other software.
2.DDE (Both output from SpecView and input to SpecView):
SpecView supports DDE Read and DDE Poke to read and write the values of variables to other DDE enabled software.
For example Microsoft Excel is DDE enabled
3.ActiveX control (Both output from SpecView and input to SpecView):
SpecView can input and output the values of variables via ActiveX controls.
For example one of our resellers has written ActiveX controls in Visual Basic to allow SpecView to read/write data in a Microsoft Access database
4.OPC (Both output from SpecView and input to SpecView):
This is an unlikely solution - however, SpecView can read and write via OPC – SpecView has a built-in OPC-Client - but this would need the other software to have an OPC-Server – either built-in or a third-party OPC-Server.
