Locking Objects

Objects can be locked onto the screen (GDW) to prevent them from being unintentionally moved using the cursor.

 

This is particularly helpful if a background graphic is being used when it is easy to inadvertently click on it and move it.

 

To lock an object right-click and choose Lock Object from the popup menu:

Once an object is locked the handles will change to red and the 'No Entry' cursor will be displayed if an attempt is made to use the handles.

However, the cursor keys can still be used to nudge selected object(s) one pixel at a time (or while holding the SHIFT key down jump one grid increment) as described here.

 

Also, using the Move To Front; Move To Back; Move Forward; Move Back menu items from the Object menu will also continue to function.
