Migrate Configurations

After installing SpecView Version 3 copy the existing Configuration(s), now called Projects, from Version 2/2.5  into Version 3 using the Migration tool to assist with this process.

Or run the Migrate Configs tool manually if the installation was done previously.

Alternatively manually copy the Configuration's sub-folder from C:\SV32\ into C:\SV3\, or preferably, make an Archive of it in Version 2/2.5 and Restore it into Version 3.

Also, for existing SpecView users see What's New In Version 3

When SpecView's Setup program is run to install SpecView there are 3 ways it can be run:

1) Clean Install - When there is NO previous version installed, or if the last version was deliberately uninstalled. Migrate_Configs would be run in this case.

2) Modify/Repair/Remove - If re-running the SAME Setup as before (by build number), Modify is used to add or remove sub-options, such as drivers or demo projects. Repair can be used if an installed file has been accidentally deleted. Migrate_Configs is NOT run.

3) Update Install - If the setup being run is a newer version (by build number), where the installer updates anything that's new in this build.  However, it will not alter which sub-components are installed, it just updates whatever was installed originally to the new build code (including drivers, help files, etc.). Migrate_Configs is NOT run.

There is a command line option (/z2) to SpecView's Setup program that will force Migrate_Configs to be run.

Note: This MUST be a lower case 'z' and cannot be used with other command line options.
