Adding a Bar chart to a GDW is very similar to adding a Trend chart.

Click the Draw Bar Chart tool TB_BARCH  and the cursor changes to cur_barc

Click and drag on the GDW to draw a rectangle as shown below. When the mouse button is released a Bar chart is drawn on the GDW.

The Bar Chart Setup box and Variables List are also displayed:

barchset

This is used to choose the variable to be displayed on the Bar chart and the appearance of it.

Select the variable to be displayed from the Variables List by clicking the varplus symbol next to the name of the instrument, if it is not already open. Drag and drop the variable from the Variables List into the Variable field in the Bar Chart Setup box.

Orientation defines how the value is displayed within the bar chart; Vertical for up/down, Horizontal for left/right.

Enter a Top Value (such as 100) and a Bottom Value (such as 0). Choose the color of the bar, and whether the bar should grow from the bottom up, from the top down, or both up and down. In the Scales section of the box choose whether to display a scale for the Bar chart and whether or not to show the value numerically within the bar.

Once all the changes are made click OK and then click the Save tool TB_SAVE again.
