Instruments can be assigned to a group to keep them together logically:

 

 

In the above example the factory has various levels and zones each made up of a number of instruments.

The instruments in the Variables List can be grouped accordingly.

 

To add a new group name enter a name and click the Add button.

To add instruments to the group choose the new group from the Assign to group drop-down menu from the instrument's Properties box.

 

 

Note that the word 'group' has 2 meanings in SpecView:

1. When instruments and/or parameters and/or variables are grouped together into a named logical group within the Variables List as described above.

2. When objects are grouped together on the GDW so they can be moved all together.
