Instrument Views are a pictorial representation of a connected instrument.

In most cases it will look like and have buttons that operate in a similar way to the actual instrument when SpecView is in Runtime Mode.

InstrumentViews

A simple measurement instrument typically has a single Instrument View.

A programmable controller will have separate Instrument Views for the programmer module and the controller module.

A multi-loop controller will have separate Instrument Views for the programmer module and for each of the loops.

The individual instrument parameters can typically be accessed by clicking the [PAR] button on the Instrument View.

Adding an Instrument View to a GDW

To add an Instrument View to a GDW open the Variables List and drag and drop the instrument's name from the list out onto the GDW.

Resizing an Instrument View

An Instrument View cannot be resized on the screen.

If a larger (or smaller) Instrument View is required then the graphic can be redrawn manually, grouped and saved as a GDO 'Graphical Display Object' (from the Edit menu) for future use.

However, this will not save the variables, therefore each time it is put on the screen the variables will need to be put out manually.
