Monitor (physical screen) sizes and the resolution of those monitors are increasing.
SpecView screen layouts (GDWs) that were designed on smaller or lower resolution monitors are not automatically resized on larger (or smaller) monitors.
Although the View menu does have zoom capability.
It is necessary to go into Edit Mode to make the necessary changes, and there are some features in SpecView which will help.
First it is useful to know the width and height in pixels of the new monitor.
Then once in Edit Mode:
1. First choose Show screen size guide from the View menu which shows a dashed lines.
Then choose Set screen size guide and enter the width and height of the new monitor in pixels:
This will draw dashed lines to mark the extent of the available screen area, although this is along the boundary, so to see it scroll across or up.
2. Choose Resize Screen from the View menu and then choose 800x600 -> 1024x768 to enlarge the objects on the screen.
This can be done more than once if the new monitor is significantly bigger.
However, Instrument Views can look a little odd after resizing, which is something we're looking to improve in a future release.
Something else to be aware of when adding text to a GDW while using a high resolution monitor is Windows Font Scaling.
If SpecView Networking is being used and the monitors physical screens on the Local and Remote are different, then see here.
