Please read through the Web Server section to learn more about SpecView's Web Server features.

Follow the steps below to access the Web Server through a web browser.

1.Verify that both the device attempting to access the Web Server (remote device) and the PC hosting the Web Server are connected to the same network.

The Web Server's IP address is identical to the IP address of the PC hosting the Web Server.

Please read through Web Server - Connections for further details on how to ensure the remote device and the Web Server are on the same local network.

Determine the IP address of the Web Server:

On the PC hosting the Web Server, launch the Command Prompt terminal.

 Input the command “ipconfig”.

The resulting output will display the PC’s IP address in the IPv4 Address field.

Identify the IP address of the remote device.

If the remote device's IP address is 192.168.1.23 and the Web Server's IP address is 192.168.2.63, the remote device is not on the same local network as the Web Server.

In such cases, please consult the company’s IT department for further assistance.

2.On the remote device, open a web browser.
3.Enter the IP address of the Web Server in the browser’s address bar, followed by “/index.html”.

For example, if the IP address of the Web Server is 192.168.52.143, enter “192.168.52.143/index.html” in the address bar.

If the user needs to interact with the Web Server, enter the IP address of the Web Server in the browser’s address bar, followed by “/index.html?SVClicksPassword”.

For example, if the IP address of the Web Server is 192.168.52.143 and the “SVClicks” password is “ABC”, enter “192.168.52.143/index.html?ABC” in the address bar.

Press ENTER; the web page should then load the screenshot of the SpecView application.

To access the desktop, follow the steps mentioned above and replace the "SVClicks" password with the "DTClicks" password.

It is strongly recommended to be extremely careful when utilizing "DTClicks" as this feature does enable users to access and control any programs and data on the PC.

For more information on "SVClicks" and "DTClicks" please read through Web Server - Setup.

If switching between "SVClicks" and "DTClicks" web pages, occasionally an extra refresh of the web page is required.

4.Press ENTER; the web page should then load the screenshot generated by SpecView.

By default, this screenshot updates every 60 seconds.

To edit how fast the screenshot updates, please read through Web Server - Setup and contact a SpecView representative as additional support will be required.

If utilizing "SVClicks" or "DTClicks", the user can click anywhere on the screenshot, and the click will be registered on the PC hosting the Web Server.

For example, if the user clicks on the screenshot where a button is, then the button will be clicked on the PC running the Web Server.

After a user clicks on the screenshot, the screenshot will update faster than 60 seconds.

The screenshot will be refreshed in the sequence of the fibonacci numbers up to the default of 60 seconds, at which point the screenshot will refresh according to the default setting.

To edit this, please contact a SpecView representative.
