Grayed out (disabled) menu items and buttons

Menu items and buttons can be grayed (grayed) out or not enabled (disabled) if they are not available for use in a particular context.

In SpecView's menus and boxes:

If the required menu-item in, for example, the Variables List is not enabled (grayed-out) then go to the Online Features menu and choose Disable All (fully offline). This is because some of the menu-items, such as changing instrument details can't be done while online.

Other reasons for seeing menu items or buttons that are greyed-out are, for example, if the SpecView license is a Runtime Only license both Edit Mode (remain online) and Edit Mode (go offline) will not be enabled on SpecView's File menu.

The popup Trend Chart Properties menu and the menus in the Variables List can also have menu items not enabled while 'Online'.

On a GDW:

When configuring a SpecView project it may useful to make a button unavailable in a certain context, for example a 'Start Batch' button should not be available until the Batch ID has been entered.

This can be done using Position Dynamics to move the button off-screen (outside the visible part of the screen) until a Boolean is set by the Strategy Controller to indicate that the Batch ID has been entered.
