Licensing of SpecView

The use of SpecView is under the terms of the End User License Agreement (EULA). Users must agree to these terms to use SpecView.

SpecView software is licensed either through a Soft License or with a USB license dongle.

The USB Dongle is your license! Do not lose it! Dongles can be mistaken for memory sticks and therefore should be securely attached to the computer. Dongles can only be replaced or exchanged if the original is returned to SpecView.

From Version 3.1.100 onwards SpecView is supplied as standard with a Soft License; USB license dongles are available on request at extra cost.

Note, Remote computers used with SpecView's Remote option are unlicensed copies. The license on the local computer will need to have been purchased with the required number of simultaneous remote users.

Each computer running SpecView requires its own license. There is no concept of a 'Site License' for SpecView. However, for locations with many copies of SpecView, special pricing may be available. Please contact your SpecView representative for details.

Unlicensed copies of SpecView can used with restricted functionality in Demo Mode.

SpecView licenses do not expire but soft licenses need to 'check-in' once per year to remain current.

Evaluation licenses are available which do have an expiry date defined in them, after which time SpecView will only operate in Demo Mode. This expiry date can be changed or removed by upgrading the license.
